G-DADZ - CZAW Sportcruiser

The Sportcruiser is an all metal low wing ultralight aircraft powered by either a Rotax 912 or a Jabiru 3330.

The aircraft type was designed by CZAW - Czech Aircraft Works and first flew in 2006. CZAW built 272 examples before the company changed name to Czech Sport Aircraft in 2009 - production continued onwards from c/n 09SC273.

The excellent Sportcruiser designed was tested and accquired by US manufacturer Piper and from January 2010 the aircraft was enhanced and re-badged to become the PiperSport. The PiperSport is still built at the CSA factory in Kunovice, Czech Republic and the first customer delivery was made in April 2010.

In the UK there are currently 83 examples of the Sportcruiser registered with the UK CAA - of these 68 examples were built from CZAW / CSA supplied aircraft kits - the other 15 examples were complete factory built aircraft.

Sportcruiser G-DADZ c/n LAA 338-14792 was registered in the UK in April 2008 and by Dec 2009 had flown over 120 flight hours. The photos above show G-DADZ departing from Compon Abbas airfield in Dorset, England in June 2010.
